EUROGAL
Surveys Ltd., was founded at the end of the communist era, when
"glasnost" and "perestroika" were beginning to change the old
USSR. With the disappearance of the former institutionalised
system and the emergence of the new Commonwealth of Independent
States, EUROGAL was there to provide reliable independent survey
and inspection services of a western standard, acceptable to
the international shipping, trading and insurance communities.
Our record of reliability and integrity soon lead to our appointment
by Lloyd's of London, as LLOYD'S AGENT for Ukraine, Moldava
and southern Russia, an area of some 1,250,000 square kilometres
- about twice the size of France, with a population of approximately
100 million people and over 60 ports catering for about 1,000
ships at any one time.
The
international insurance community soon followed Lloyd's
lead and other major underwriters' organisations such
as the Institute of London Underwriters (I.L.U.), V.H.A.(Hamburg),
V.B.S.(Bremen), C.E.S.A.M.(France), appointed EUROGAL
as their representative in various locations, as did the
leading shipowners' protecting and indemnity associations,
and many of the world's most important insurance companies.
We have expanded from our original location in the port
of Odessa in the early days, to a network of offices throughout
the Former Soviet Union, Cambodia and China as well as our
head office in Cyprus and our international liaison centre.
In the central Asian republic of Kazakhstan, trading as
EGIS Ltd., EUROGAL is Lloyd's Agent for the entire country,
covering an area of more than 2,720,000 square kilomentres
with a population of more that 15,000,000.
Originally concentrating on marine activities EUROGAL's
expertise now covers non-marine operations, commodity
inspections, quality assurance training consulting and
property evaluation.

is not owned by nor affiliated to any underwriting or
broking body and has therefore been able to retain totally
independent status.
